Rob Rainwater assisted us in our booking our trip based on our wants/needs. He provided us his experiences in helping us decide on what we wanted from our trip. He kept us informed on what needed to be taken care of to prepare for the trip.

Vacation

Tour director Rebecca of Trafalgar was great and made trip enjoyable and comfortable. Tiring but know had to keep things moving to see/enjoy many experiences within certain time frame. Did not have to worry about certain details and was able to enjoy the trip. All of extra experiences were worth the cost to experience more of Italian places/culture.

An amazing and unforgettable trip! I’d like to suggest TRAFALGAR that they should remind travelers that it’s a VERY ACTIVE tour, with some tough, stressful walks on uneven grounds, and a few steep hills to climb. Visiting two ruins in one day in a hot day was too much, especially for Seniors. Our Travel Director CEM was VERY patient, funny, and knowledgeable of all the history, culture, etc. The Driver ALI was a VERY nice & an experienced driver. The hotels were excellent! I LOVED all the healthy & delicious breakfasts at the hotels. ALL the staff at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Istanbul was a “10”!!! They made us so welcome, they were very helpful, and friendly. We had a problem with the “Cave-hotel” (water dripping from the ceiling), but the TD took care of the problem & moved us to another room. I really did NOT care much about the “cooking class with a dance”, and the lunch in a village. It might be a little embarrassing, but another reminder to the travelers: NO toilet papers in the WCs in many bus stops! And some had squats. I LOVED what CEM did: a daily wake-up call & a msg in the evening about the following day schedule/itinerary. They were good reminders! I LOVED being helped by DANIEL PELLETIER of GET, and will continue choosing tour packages with him & Co. THANK YOU ALL!!!

I met several lovely single ladies which made the trip better. I really enjoyed the dinners out and the amazing customs of other countries. I loved the flamenco and fado and the belly dancers and acrobat and singers.

From the moment we stepped out of our taxi we were treated as if the staff had been waiting especially for us. We were looked after impeccably, invited to lunch even though we thought we had to wait for dinner and informed as soon as our room was ready. Everything was as perfect as it could be. Unbelievable standard of service and food. It was all fresh and delicious. A quality you would expect if you were a much smaller group of diners. The staff and tour manager Laura were outstanding never looking tired or bored or stressed. They all managed to look as is they were having just as much of a good time. It was so enjoyable we have already booked another French trip for next year with our friends. We are well travelled and our hobbies are travelling , cycling and eating good local, sustainably produced food and drink. This suited us perfectly. I was so upset to see one passenger berating the chef ( who by the way handled himself perfectly and with huge dignity) complaining about the food choices and quality. He was clearly showing off and the group of us made sure the deflated chef knew we certainly didn’t agree. I guess there will always be some who expect more whatever you offer them. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. For us all the little touches and gracious moments of extra care that the serving staff afforded us made the difference. I can’t wait for next April! thank you. Special mention to our outstanding , bright and super knowledgeable tour Manager Laura.. Also her assistant Grace who was very calm ,and helpful. Special mention to Ralitsa,l ( adorable) Andrè,( super star) Levente( hilarious quotes!) Milen ( cute, cheeky) Sofía(super sweet) and Klèon.( endearing) The Sommeliar Planen also charmed with his extensive knowledge and gentle manner! We will forgive his daily jokes!😂 All in all it was the best of times. Thank you all x

Vacation

This itinerary is fantastic, allowing us to see so much of Italy. The additional excursions gave us just enough time to explore, see a few sites, and have a meal in each town. From Rome to Amalfi, through lush Tuscany, hilltop towns, Pompeii, Venice canals, Swiss Lugano, Milan, Pisa, Florence, and serene Siena, everything was beautiful and easy! Local guides personalized our connection to the historical architecture, art, and culture. The use of audio headsets allowed us to hear every word, without making a scene. The Spring weather & few crowds made April a good time to go. Sarah Rossi was made to be a Travel Guide! What a sweetheart, fluent in lovely Australian English and Italian. She was always laughing, caring, and setting a positive tone to carry the team. I enjoyed the personal attention: she was aware of everyone's concerns, personalities, and favorite sites. She gave thoughtful birthday gifts and I appreciated when she walked the bus coach to hand out local specialty treats: limon candy, almond biscotti, and colored wax paper-wrapped cookies. The itinerary was exciting--seeing the top sites within 12 days: we were on the bus by 8:00 everyday, so we could enjoy full days of many adventures! 5 Stars

Just a great trip. Peru, particularly Machu Picchu, is a trip of a lifetime. Our Tour Director, Barbara Fersti, was well organized, friendly and in charge. She kept things moving and was a delight. Our local experts, Luis, Ximena and Rosario were also top notch. This is my 4th trip with Grand European Travel and I’m already planning my next one.

It was a magnificent adventure! Our tour director Patricia O’Brien was extremely passionate about Italy. She was very thorough and extremely punctual, which made for a great trip for all of us. Most of the hotels were very nice and our optional dinners were fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about our tour!
